In perfect weather conditions, 4,122 starters ensured a grandiose cycling festival on Sunday at the 41st Ötztal Cycling Marathon. Six and a half hours after the first Canadian winner Jack Burke (winning time: 7:10:13,1 hours), the last finisher reached the finish line to thunderous applause from the more than 5,000 spectators. Dominik Salcher from Tyrol (AUT) overtakes his fellow countrymen Alban Lakata and Daniel Federspiel shortly before the top of the final alpine pass to finish by a razor-thin margin over Alban Lakata (3rd place) in second place. In the women's race, Catherine Rossmann from Germany triumphed in 8 hours 4 minutes and 34 seconds for the first time. A total of 3566 participants reached the finish line in Sölden. Samantha Arnaudo from Italy in second and Martha Maltha from the Netherlands in third complete the women's podium.
